This map covers the north half of the Bob Marshall Wilderness complex from the Swan Crest on the west to the Badger/Two Medicine area on the east.
During the summer and fall of 2011, we GPS’ed over 500 miles of trail to make the trail locations and mileages as accurate as possible. We hope you’ll find
these additions useful on your next trip into the Bob. Fifth Edition, printed in Spring 2021.
Unfolded maps are available. Please contact us if you’re interested in purchasing an unfolded map.

Jim Bob –
Just finished another trip to the Bob. This time, we did the Gateway Loop – going in on South Birch Creek (from Swift Dam), over Gateway Pass, through the Gateway Gorge, down into the Middle Fork of the Flathead, up Strawberry Creek, over Badger Pass and back out via North Birch Creek. Through it all, we had our Cairn Carto map of the North Half of the Bob – it never failed us. We consulted it often and the mileages “felt right” (unlike other maps) and we did not feel lost at any point. Kudos on putting together some great maps (I also have the South Half)!
